Corporate Social Responsibility
CSR is an ongoing process at Louisenthal: we’re always looking at our products, procedures and processes to make sure they reflect our most fundamental values of respect for natural resources, our people, the wider community and the environment. These are just as vital for the continued success of our business as technological progress.
Sharing ideas with all our stakeholders
We encourage lively discussion among all our stakeholders on a range of CSR subjects, including:
- Ecological best practices
- Forward-looking HR policies
- Contributing to the communities we operate in
- Respect and fairness in all our dealings
Louisenthal analyses and reports on its social responsibility
As a subsidiary of Giesecke+Devrient Currency Technology GmbH, we have been participating in the UN Global Compact since September 2010. This global initiative aims to align companies’ business strategies with universal social, environmental, and economic principles, particularly: human rights, labour rights, environmental protection and anti-corruption activities.
By committing to sustainability, the Compact’s members can take shared responsibility for achieving a better world. As an active participant in this initiative, we publish an annual report on our activities and progress in the above areas together with G+D.
Sustainability in the Production of Banknotes
The ecological footprint of banknotes depends on many factors. With our “Life of a banknote” principle, we show how we meet requirements in terms of security, durability, functionality, and design while respecting sustainability.
Climate and Environmental Protection
Using resources responsibly and protecting the environment and climate are core commitments at Louisenthal. Find out how we avoid waste, implement ecological production processes and encourage recycling.
For Louisenthal, compliance means adhering to rules and regulations – but also staying true to our own principles and values. As a subsidiary of Giesecke+Devrient, we are integrated in all the Group's compliance processes.
