They’re really one of the most eye-catching and beautiful features on a banknote – and boost security too, because they cannot be copied without significant time and technical resources. At Louisenthal, we’ve perfected the art of harmonising visual appeal and highly complex structures that make our foils extremely hard to forge. That’s due to our LEAD® and patch technology.
- LEAD® stands for Long-lasting Economical Anticopy Device and is a foil that covers the whole height of a banknote.
- Our patches have the same qualities but take the form of individually placed elements that can be positioned anywhere on the banknote.
The fact that we also make the paper substrate ensures you get perfect integration of the foil and the substrate. Louisenthal masters the entire process – from design through to application in our factory or at the customer site.
The TwinColors® Patch is instantly recognizable, visually striking, and inherently secure. It combines two complementary micro-optical effects on one area to provide authentication that is safer, easier to use, and more visually compelling than ever before.
